The Hershey Centre in Mississauga is easy to get to from both the 401 and 403 highways, and is only 15 minutes from Pearson International Airport.

Home to the Mississauga Ice Dogs, the 2003-04 Ontario Hockey League Eastern Conference Champions, the centre is one component of what's been named Sports Zone - south of the Hershey Centre is Iceland Mississauga, where there are four ice rinks that are open year-round. In April 2003, two more rinks were added to the Hershey Centre, bringing the total to four. The centre hosts many popular events throughout the year. The Ice Dogs home games are played here, and can be watched from a lounge overlooking the rink. Other events include: the Dodge Rodeo Championships, West 49 World Cup Skateboarding, professional boxing, popular concerts, international skating shows and competitions, trade and business exhibitions.

For hockey games, the Hershey Centre seats 5,400 spectators and has room for 400 standing viewers. For concerts and other events it has enough room for 6,000 spectators. The Hershey Centre also has 27 private suites, a ticket office on the premises, two lounges, and four fixed food concessions. A pro shop is also on the premises. It is wheelchair accessible and seating is available for people with wheelchairs. The centre also provides parking for 1,920 vehicles.

In the future, the Hershey Centre operators are looking to open an indoor baseball and soccer facility. They also want to make it home to the Mississauga Gymnastics Club. Outside the facility, plans are being developed for a hotel.
